“My Big Fat Greek Wedding”

--

I spent the day watching an interesting movie called “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”. I’m going to talk about the film. In short, the film is about a young Greek woman falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept him while she comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity.

Highlights

At the beginning of the film, Toula worked as the settings hostess in her family’s restaurant.
She first saw Ian when he was in a friend meeting at her family’s restaurant.
She decided to go to college and learn more about computers and get work as a travel agent.
Toula’s family was Greek and Ian’s family was American.
Toula’s aunt gave her a job at the tourist agency.
One day Ian saw her in the tourist agency and decided to ask her for a date.
Toula was afraid to her family won’t accept Ian.
Ian loved Toula and asks her to marry him.
When her father learned about Ian he was disappointed and disagree with the daughter’s decision. And at the wedding, he changed his mind.
To marry Toula Ian had to practically accept a new faith.

In conclusion, I found the film interesting and romantic, but I won’t watch it again.
